This page explains what happens to the information you send to the review desk, why it is kept, and how you can ask for a copy or have it removed.
When you write in through the contact page or send a title for a closer look, we receive the name you type, your email address, and whatever you put in the message field. If you call the desk, the phone number you use is logged by the carrier, not by us. We also collect basic technical data that any web server records: browser type, device type, the pages you opened, and the time of your visit.
The site uses a small number of cookies to keep pages loading correctly and to understand which reviews and reading guides get read. Analytics events are aggregated and are not used to build a profile of you as a person. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work, though some preferences may reset.
Reader messages are kept so we can reply, follow up on a suggested title, or send a reading list you asked for. Technical logs are kept for a short period to spot broken pages and spam. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to publishers or retailers for marketing.
A few outside services help the desk run: the hosting provider that stores the site, the email provider that delivers messages, and the analytics tool that counts visits. These providers only see the data needed to do their job and are bound by their own privacy terms. We do not share reader messages with anyone else unless the law requires it.
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask for a correction, request a portable copy, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw consent for analytics at any time. Readers in the EU and the UK have these rights under the GDPR, and readers in California have similar rights under the CCPA. Write to the address below and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Nothing on this site promises a particular outcome from sending in a title, and no review is written in exchange for payment, sponsorship, or a retailer arrangement. There are no invented endorsements, no fake urgency, and no claim of affiliation with a publisher or bookshop that does not exist. If a mistake appears in a review, it is corrected with a dated note rather than quietly rewritten.
